Catch up in seconds
Miss a week of a fast-moving world and there might be four hundred posts waiting. Ask for a recap and you get a summary of the story so far: what happened, who did it, and where everyone stands now. Read it, then jump back in without asking the table to explain.
Ask the story anything
"What did the innkeeper say about the letter?" "Who was in the room when the lights went out?" Questions are answered from your chat's own history, not from the internet, so the answer is what actually happened at your table.
A side character, played by AI
Every story has roles nobody wants: the shopkeeper, the guard at the gate, the rival who only shows up twice. If the chat owner allows it, a character in the chat can be marked as AI-played. It answers when addressed, in the voice its profile describes, using the story context the owner has set. Owners can also turn on automatic responses so the character reacts on its own. Real players keep every seat that matters.
Dice rolls never trigger an AI reply, so a quick check does not cost anyone credits. Some AI features use credits, which you can buy or earn by watching short ads.
Off by default, owner-controlled
None of this is on unless the owner of a chat turns it on. Many worlds never use it. When it is on, it is visible: AI-played characters are marked, and a recap is clearly a recap. Nothing an AI writes is ever attributed to a human player.
Frequently asked
Is RP Nowz an AI companion app?
No. You cannot chat one-on-one with a bot as the point of the app. Every chat is a table of people; AI is a tool the table can use.
Does the AI read my private chats?
The recap and question tools only run when a participant asks for them, and only on that chat's messages. See the privacy policy for details on data handling.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. The owner can disallow AI characters and automatic responses in the chat settings at any time.
Real players, with a little help when you need it. RP Nowz is free on iOS, Android and the web.
