Real dice, rolled in the chat

Type a roll or pick from the tray. The dice tumble in 3D, the result lands in the conversation for everyone at the table, and nobody can fudge it.

Any roll, one tap away

Send /roll 1d20 and a die drops into the chat. Add more dice and a modifier with standard notation, such as 2d20+3 or 4d6, or give the roll a label so the table knows what it was for: /roll 1d20+4 sneak past the guards. Percentile checks work too: 1d100 rolls a fair hundred-sided die.

Prefer tapping to typing? Open the dice tray, pick your dice, add a modifier and say what the roll is for. Either way the result is a normal message in the thread, with the dice you rolled and the total.

Rolled on the server, seen by everyone

The app never rolls locally. Every roll is generated on the server from a cryptographic random source and written into the chat as a message, so a player cannot re-roll quietly, edit a result, or send a screenshot of a 20 that never happened. What lands in the thread is what was rolled, and it is the same for every person reading it.

Rolls are out-of-character by default: a roll is you deciding an outcome, not your character speaking. They also never trigger an AI character to respond, so a quick check does not spend anyone's credits.

Dice that are yours

The dice are rendered in 3D, with a finish, numerals and ink colour you can change. Start from one of the starter sets, or open the dice studio and describe the look you want, or upload a picture to turn into a set. Repaint a set whenever you like. Some custom styles cost credits; the starter sets are free.

Your dice preference is saved per chat, so you can roll golden dice in the royal court and bone dice in the crypt.

When to roll

Dice are a tool, not a rulebook. Roll when the outcome matters and nobody at the table should decide it alone: a lock to pick, a lie to sell, an arrow loosed at a moving target. Let clean successes and interesting failures both move the story. Our guide on dice in text roleplay covers notation, simple resolution ladders and contested rolls in more depth.

Frequently asked

Which dice are supported?

Any number of sides you can write in notation, including the usual d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100, with multiple dice and a modifier per roll.

Can players on an older version of the app see my rolls?

Yes. A roll is an ordinary message that reads as a sentence, so it shows up as text even where the 3D dice are not rendered.

Do I need dice to roleplay?

No. Plenty of worlds never roll. The dice are there for the tables that want them.
