How offline mode works
RP Nowz keeps a local copy of your chats, characters and recent messages on the device. When the connection drops, the app does not lock up or show a spinner. You keep reading. When you send a message, it is saved to an outbox and marked as pending. As soon as the phone is back online, the outbox is sent in the order you wrote it, and your friends receive the posts exactly as they would have if you had never lost the connection.
- Read any chat you have opened before, including the story so far.
- Write in character, out of character or as the narrator. Long posts included.
- Queue as many messages as you like. They go out in order.
- Sync happens automatically. There is no button to press.
Why it matters for roleplay
A good in-character post takes thought, and thought does not wait for Wi-Fi. Roleplayers write on commutes, in waiting rooms, on planes, in the ten minutes before a class starts. An app that needs a live connection for every keystroke turns those minutes into lost drafts. RP Nowz was built so the writing always works, and the sending catches up later.
It also makes group play calmer. A player with patchy reception does not hold up the scene; their posts arrive when they arrive, in order, and the read receipts and typing indicators pick up again as if nothing happened.
What needs a connection
Rolling dice, joining a new world, uploading a portrait and the AI tools need the server, because they either have to be fair for everyone or fetch something you do not have yet. Everything about reading and writing the story itself works without one.

Will my offline messages be out of order?
No. They are sent in the order you wrote them, one after another, once you are online.
What if I close the app before it reconnects?
The outbox is stored on the device. It sends the next time the app opens with a connection.
Does it use a lot of storage?
Text is tiny. Images and GIFs you have viewed are cached and cleaned up automatically, and deleting a chat removes its cached media.
